Brewery in Indian Queens?

I went through this small village last week and managed to take a photo of a once old public house, now closed. On a stone plate was written brewer. It does not appear in Norman Barber’s fine book. Any ideas?

Austen’s Regent Brewery, Ramsgate

I am researching my family history, and trying to add to any information existing regarding Austen’s Regent Brewery in Ramsgate. We have a fair bit of information regarding its history, but would love to discover more photographs or labels / documents regarding the brewery. To date we have one photograph of the original Brewery building which was purchased by Fleets brewery circa 1900.

The information we do have is that the brewery started in the late 1700s in Broad Street, by 1850 the brewery moved to new premises in Belmont Street, which was called Regent Place, and for the next 70 years the building was known as the Regent Brewery. The brewery had two pubs the Golden Ball and King of Denmark but supplied many more.

Gardner’s of Ash first leased the brewery buildings and finally bought them in 1927 but concentrated brewing at Ash and the brewery site was converted into a large hall for concerts and dances before being demolished in the 1950s. The Golden Ball remained until the 1960s and the King of Denmark traded up until the 1990s when it became a Noodle Bar.

Gardner’s of Ash continued the Austen link when Claude Austen was head brewer up until the brewery was absorbed into the Whitbread/Fremlins empire and demolished.

If anyone knows anything more that would be great

Wrexham Brewery, Yarbridge, Brading Isle of Wight

This brewery is shown on the 1862 25” OS map but it was later known as the Yarbridge Brewery, a much more sensible name! It was located next to the Yarbridge Inn (formerly known as the Anglers Inn). Why was it called the Wrexham Brewery? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could you possibly indicate potential sources of reference to further my search, which is proving very difficult!

Any help in this matter would be be gratefully received.

Bulfield’s Sparkling Beer

I have a copy of a light green beer label [with blue and red writing] from a bottle of this beer….

At top it says  “Brewed and Bottled in Scotland”.

The main part of the label says “Bulfield’s Monogram Brand.  Sparkling Beer. Exported Solely by Bulfield & Co London”

At the bottom it says  ” Established 1878″

Anyone know anything about this company ?

Grahame Bulfield

Information sought on former Pound Brewery - Wiltshire

I am a relation of the Pound family that, apparently, ran a brewery in Wiltshire at the same time as Arkell’s etc but I cannot find any information at all on the internet (possibly William Pound & Co.?)! Would anyone know anything that can kickstart my search? Many thanks
